CURRICULUM
Bass-baritone voice, he mainly performs in comic roles, both leading and supporting. After studying at the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory in Venice, he furthered his studies with pianist Silvia Silveri and soprano Mariella Devia. In 2009, he won a scholarship for young singers promoted by the Veneto Region, the Treviso Theater Foundation, and the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, which allowed him to study with Bruno De Simone, Regina Resnik, Dennis O’Neill, and Roberto Scandiuzzi. He attended a two-year advanced course in Modena under the guidance of Mirella Freni. In 2010, he was a finalist at the “A. Belli” International Competition in Spoleto and won the 40th Toti Dal Monte International Opera Competition in Treviso.
He has performed as Belcore in L’Elisir d’amore at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, the Teatro Comunale in Treviso, the Teatro Sociale in Rovigo, and the Pergolesi-Spontini Theater in Jesi, as well as Sharpless in Madama Butterfly.
In 2012, he was a finalist in the Maria Callas International Competition. In February 2013, he won the 23rd International Opera Singing Competition in Clermont-Ferrand, France, and debuted as Dr. Malatesta in Don Pasquale by G. Donizetti in the theaters of Clermont-Ferrand, Saint-Etienne, Vichy, Limoges, Reims, Rouen, and Avignon. In October 2013, he won first prize at the Gaetano Fraschini International Opera Competition New Voices for Opera in Pavia.
In November 2015, he debuted in The Merry Widow at the Pergolesi Theater in Jesi, and in 2016, he debuted at the Teatro Verdi in Pisa in Gianni Schicchi and at the Pavarotti-Freni Theater in Modena.
In April 2017, he debuted as Silvio in Pagliacci at the Magnitogorsk Theater in Russia, and in May 2017, he debuted in concert form as Gianni Schicchi at the LaVerdi Auditorium in Milan, conducted by M. John Axelrod. In November, he returned to the role of Dr. Malatesta in Metz, France.
In February 2018, he debuted in Italiana in Algeri in Pisa and Rovigo, and in April, he again performed as Dr. Malatesta in Don Pasquale in Krakow. In June of the same year, he sang in Don Carlo in Bologna under the direction of Michele Mariotti and debuted as Sulpice in La Fille du Régiment by G. Donizetti at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna, conducted by Yves Abel.
He started 2019 by debuting as Pietro Fléville and Fouquier Tinville in Andrea Chénier in the theaters of Modena, Reggio Emilia, Piacenza, Ravenna, and Parma. In 2019, he performed in Lucrezia Borgia in the theaters of Bergamo, Reggio Emilia, Piacenza, and Ravenna. In Treviso, he debuted as the Sacristan in Tosca at the Teatro Comunale, under the direction of Francesco Lanzillotta. In December 2021, he debuted in The Little Sweep by B. Britten at the Teatro Comunale in Modena.
In 2022, he debuted at the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari as Dulcamara. Subsequently, in the same city, he debuted as Don Magnifico in La Cenerentola by Rossini, conducted by Jonathan Brandani.
At the Teatro Grande in Brescia, he performed the role of Prince Yamadori in a production of Madama Butterfly, conducted by M. Frizza, a production that would later be staged in the theaters of Lombardy.
Future engagements will see the artist performing in the theaters of Rovigo and Treviso in the role of the Sacristan in Tosca, as well as the debut of Silvio in Pagliacci.
