Italian conductor and pianist Jonathan Santagada has an established presence with several of the leading opera houses, symphonic orchestras and festivals of Europe.
In the past seasons he has conducted at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Theater Basel, Teatro Regio in Turin, Orchestra dei pomeriggi musicali in Milan, Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, Opera North in Leeds, Welsh National Opera in Cardiff, Orchestra Southbank Sinfonia in London.
He will conduct a symphonic concert in November at Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia in Valenica with the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valencia. The programme will include music by Poulenc, Ravel, Debussy.
Maestro Santagada has a close relationship with the Royal Opera House and its musical director, Sir Antonio Pappano. He has worked on more than twenty-five Covent Garden productions, working alongside some of the best singers and conductors in the world.
He was also assistant conductor at Salzburg Festival, Wiener Staatsoper, Opéra National de Paris, Bayerische Staatsoper, Dutch National Opera, Teatro Real, La Monnaie, Teatro comunale di Bologna, Arena di Verona, working alongside Marco Armiliato, Maurizio Benini, Nicola Luisotti, Daniel Oren, Stefano Montanari, Gianluca Capuano.
He worked as a conductor and vocal coach for 2 years at the Royal Northern College of Music and he is regularly invited at CNIPAL (Centre National d’Artistes Liriques) in Marseille, “Fabbrica young artists program” Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, “Jette Parker Young Artists Programme” Royal Opera House.
Jonathan Santagada was awarded an honours degree cum laude from the Conservatorio Statale di musica “G. Verdi” in Torino and continued his studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de musique et danse in Lyon.
