CURRICULUM

Ukrainian born soprano Yulia Tkachenko graduated from Kiev Conservatory (National Musical Academy of Ukraine). She polished her skills in the Young Artist Program of Teatro Comunale di Bologna and Rossini Conservatory of Pesaro. Yulia’s path to opera was quite long, although she had been studying music since childhood – playing accordion for 7 years and studying choral conducting for 4 years.  But her interest in theatre and drama was stronger at that time. Then, she became an actress and played leading roles in the Drama Theatre in Nikolaev, her hometown. Later, she moved to the capital and continued to work in films and television productions. 

At the age of thirty, she developed a strong interest in opera after being heard by the pianist Cecilia Bartoli, who advised her to study opera exclusively. She enteres the Kyiv Conservatory and after receiving her bachelor’s degree, she moves to ltaly. 

She made her debut as Mimi in Puccini‘s La Boheme at the New Opera of Kiev in 2017. 

In 2018 she makes her ltalian debut in Teatro Tiberini as Giulietta in Bellini‘s “1 Capuleti e I Montecchi”. In 2019 starts her three-year collaboration with Ravenna Opera Festival where she appears as Marta in “Szenen aus Goethes Faust” by R. Schumann, La Hostess in “Il viaggio di Mastorna” by Matteo D’Amico, La Fata turchina in “Pinocchio” by Aldo Tarabella. Participant of legendary concerts of Maestro Riccardo MutiLe Vie dell’Amicizia“. 

In 2021 Yulia makes her debut in Teatro Regio di Parma as Madchen from Mahagonny in Kurt Weill‘s “Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny“. She is back in Teatro di Parma in 2024 as Giannetta and Adina‘s cover in  “L’elisir d’Amore” by Gaetano Donizetti

In April 2022 she makes her jumping in debut at Teatro Comunale di Bologna in a title role in “lolanta” by Pyotr Tchaikovsky. She is back at the Bologna Theater in June 2024 as Woglinde in Wagner‘s “Das Rheingold” and Gerhilde in “Die WalkUre“. 

In 2022 she interpreters the role of Silvia in the modern opera “Delitto all’lsola delle capre” by Marco Taralli at Teatro Pergolesi di Jesi. 

In 2023 she makes her debut in Teatro Municipale di Piacenza as Contess Olga Sukarev in “Fedora” by Umberto Giordano directed by Pierluigi Pizzi

Lately Yulia has appeared as a soloist in several important European Opera theaters and stages such as Lithuanian National Opera, Mozarteum of Salzburg, Rudolfinum Dvorak Concert Hall (Prague Spring Festival), Bozar Concert Hall ( Brussels), Palais des Congrès (Strasbourg), Salle du Solarium (Bordeaux), National Opera of lsrael. She has performed under the baton of Oksana Lyniv, Christopher Franklin, Sesto Quatrini, Michael Guttler, Gustav Kuhn, Paolo Olmi, Aldo Sisillo and has been directed by Pierluigi Pizzi, Cristina Mazzavillani Muti, Walter Malosti, Luca Micheletti, Daniele Menghini

Since the beginning of the Russian invasion in Ukraine (24 February 2022) Yulia has been giving beneficiary recitals and concerts all over the world to support her Motherland. 

One of the main interpreters in the documentary film “Lviv Salzburg. Mozart for Solidarity“. 

Yulia’s operatic repertoire includes such roles as Contessa (Le nozze di Figaro, Mozart), Donna Anna (Don Giovanni, Mozart), Giulietta ( I Capuletie I Montecchi, Bellini), Adina ( Lelisir d’Amore, Donizetti), Violetta (LaTraviata, Verdi), Desdemona (Otello, Verdi), Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi, Puccini), Liu (Turandot, Puccini), Mimi (La Boheme, Puccini), Micaela (Carmen, Bizet), Contessa Olga Sukarev (Fedora, Giordano), lolanta (lolanta, Tchaikovsky), Tatiana ( Eugene Onegin, Tchaikovsky), Woglinde (Das Rheingold, Wagner), Gerhilde (Die WalkUre, Wagner). 

Cantatas and oratorios: Pergolesi Stabat Mater, Mozart Requiem, Rossini Messa Solenne, Faure Requiem, Verdi Requiem.
