CURRICULUM
Aleksey Makshantsev was born in 1994 in Barnaul. He graduated from Musical college named after the Gnesins in 2016 majoring in choral conducting. In 2020 he graduated with honors from the Academy of Choral Art named after V.S. Popov, majoring in «Musical-theatrical art» in the class of professor S.G. Nesterenko and in 2022 he graduated with honors from the Academy of Choral Art named after V.S. Popov, majoring in «Master of Music» in the class of professor D. Vdovin.
Since 2017 he has been taking part in different concert productions on the stage of Tchaikovsky Concert Hall and the Grand Hall of Moscow Conservatory. He worked with such famous conductors as Daniel Oren, Tugan Sokhiev, Miltos Logiadis, Daniele Squeo, Luciano Acocella, Dmitry Korchak.
In season 2018/2019 Aleksey debuted in the opera «Madama Butterfly» by G. Puccini and in «Lucrezia Borgia» by G. Donizetti. He has also recently debuted in the Bolshoi Theatre in the opera «Katerina Izmailova» by Dmitri Shostakovich.
In season 2022/2023 Aleksey debuted in the role of Don Giovanni in the opera “Don Giovanni”by W.A. Mozart on the stage Moscow International House of Music.
In 2022, he sang the premiere of Georges Bizet’s Carmen at the first edition of the Sochi Classical Music Festival.
In 2022, he took part in the Opera Class, a project of the Elena Obraztsova Foundation and Dmitry Korchak.
In 2023, he made his debut with the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus as Figaro in “Il barbiere di Siviglia”.
In 2023-2024 season was a soloist of the Bolshoi Opera House of Belarus.
