Ketevan Gavasheli, Georgian soprano based in Milan, started her season in January 2022 as a young artist at the Elena Obraztsova International Academy of Music and finished a 3-year season in 2025. She graduated from the Tbilisi State Conservatory (Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree 2010–2016) and also studied at the Renata Tebaldi – Mario del Monaco International Academy (Pesaro, Italy 2016–2017), where she participated in numerous concerts in different cities of Italy. Ketevan worked at the Tbilisi State Opera House from 2013 to 2016. Her main stage works are on the stage of the Great Hall of the Tbilisi State Conservatory: Mozart The Magic Flute – First Lady (2012), Donizetti L’elisir d’amore – Adina (2014), Bizet Carmen – Frasquita (2015), Mozart Le nozze di Figaro – Susanna (2016), Puccini La Bohème – Musetta (2016), Verdi Rigoletto – Gilda (2016), Mozart Entführung aus dem Serail – Costanze (2022), Bizet Les pêcheurs de perles – Leïla (2024). Also in Ketevan’s repertoire: Donizetti Don Pasquale – Norina, Puccini La Bohème – Musetta, Bellini I puritani – Elvira, Gounod Roméo et Juliette – Juliette, Verdi La Traviata – Violetta. In 2015, Ketevan was invited to the international classical music festival January Musical Evenings in Brest, Belarus, where she performed in 2016 and 2018. In July 2018, she was invited to the classical music festival Churlonis in Palanga, Lithuania, where her solo concert took place as part of the festival. In 2019, she was invited to the 1st International Tauride Classical Music Festival in Kherson, Ukraine, where her solo concert took place in spring 2021. In June 2022, as a resident of the Elena Obraztsova Academy, Ketevan made her debut as Constance in Mozart’s opera Entführung aus dem Serail as part of the Elena Obraztsova International Festival. In spring 2022 and 2023, she took part in masterclasses by Ildar Abdrazakov, and in 2024 a masterclass by Alessandro Swab. Ketevan performed in a gala concert dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Sergei Rachmaninov, together with Ildar Abdrazakov and Veronika Dzhioeva, under the direction of conductor Fabio Mastrangelo. She is a laureate of the following international competitions: 4th International Vocal Competition (Italy, Treviso – 3rd prize, 2012); 3rd International Vocal Competition You Are Our Pride (Armenia – 1st prize, 2012); 1st International Vocal Competition Harmony (Turkey, Side – 1st prize, 2014); 14th International Classical Competition of Young Musicians Music Without Borders (Lithuania, Druskininkai – 2nd prize, 2014); winner of silver prize at Euterpe Music Awards (2022); winner of first prize at London Classical Music Competition (2022); winner of first prize at Stravinsky International Music Competition (2023). In January 2024, she was invited to Milan where she performed at a gala concert in the Eco Theatre. She had a solo concert in May 2024 in Miami, USA. In June 2024, she performed in Bizet’s opera Les pêcheurs de perles within the framework of the Elena Obraztsova Festival, playing the role of Leïla. Her debut gala concert at Carnegie Hall was on October 2nd, 2024, as winner of the First Grand Prize of the Manhattan International Music Competition. She also won the silver prize at the International Mozart Competition in Vienna (2024), the silver prize at the European Virtuoso Music Awards in Berlin (2025), and is a scholar of the Opernfest Prague (2025), where she attended a masterclass with conductor Jaroslav Kyzlink and opera director David Olden.
